After 10 years of working with Sun Oil Co. followed by two years with Gladieux Refinery, founder Robert Marshall decided to create an independent oil company named Linder Oil in May of 1978. What started in a basement office and rented warehouse, Robert's past oil industry experience combined with entrepreneurial spirit prompted the beginnings of the company we know today as the successful and growing Linder Oil Company.
Linder Oil was started in May of 1978 with an office in the basement of Robert Marshall's home and a rented warehouse space.
In 1982, Linder Oil moved to a facility in New Haven, IN that had more ample office and warehouse space that better accommodated the company's growth.
In 1990, Linder Oil purchased its first new tanker, affectionately known as the "lead sled".
In 2006, Linder Oil Company moved to our present day facility in Ossian, IN after outgrowing the New Haven location. Ossian held new possibilities for business and advancement.
In 2015, to meet the needs of additional customers and businesses, we expanded our warehouse.
Ten years after moving into the Ossian location, our hopes of adding a rail spur became reality. With this capability, Linder Oil is able to ship larger quantities of products nation wide!
In 2023, Linder Oil added an additional rail spur, which allowed us to bring in additional railcars and increase overall capacity.
